PEES-2012
International Conference on Power Electronics and Energy Systems -2012
under the aegis of ISTE
Oct 26 - 27, 2012

Introduction

Power Electronics has a significant role in different industries when power processing is required such as in computers, telecommunications, variable drives, cars and alternative energy systems. It is foreseen that, during the next few years, all of electrical energy will be processed through power electronics from generation to end-use. In power electronic systems, the flow of electric energy is controlled based upon load demand, to deliver power with maximum efficiency. Power Electronic systems development is driven by the application of new components, materials, thermal management, and reliability. The energy system requires certain specific power electronics capabilities to convert the power generated which is directly interconnected with the utility grid for further supply to consumer applications. The development of scalable, modular, low cost, highly reliable power electronic interfaces will improve the overall cost and efficiency of energy systems. Thus, progressing from power electronics to systems, more attention need to be paid to performance, control issues and system integration. Further, renewable energy systems will be hooked into power electronic systems for maximized energy yield and power support to the grid.

Power Electronics and Energy Systems focus on all aspects of electrical energy including innovations in the field of applications of power systems, power electronic systems, renewable energy systems, distributed energy generation, storage devices and efficient control of grid and utility systems and also includes inter disciplinary fields such as microcontroller systems, chemical plants, fuzzy systems, shield systems in computers & control system and applications. The Department of Electrical Engineering at Chitkara University, Punjab is organizing an International Conference on ‘Power Electronics and Energy Systems- PEES 2012’ in association with School of Engineering and Built Environment, Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, U.K. on 26-27 October 2012.

OBJECTIVE OF CONFERENCE
